Chapter 5 – Estimate

Two types of estimates can be made about the population a point estimate and interval estimate

Point Estimate

– Single number that is used to estimate an unknown population parameter

Interval Estimate

– Range of value used to estimate a population parameter.

Criteria of a Good Estimator

  1. Unbiased
  2. Efficiency
  3. Consistency
  4. Sufficiency
